Winding Down 2007

After being on "vacation" for over a week with still several days to go, I decided to sit at my computer and post some thoughts to my blog.
After Christmas, I began a strength training program at the gym, before that I mostly engaged in dance workouts and body sculpting with light weights, this is VERY different for me. I had originally thought I would use this time off to indulge in a new hobby, turns out I have been spending a lot of the time just caring for my sore muscles! Can't wait to use my massage therapy gift certificates.
I really enjoy reading blogs and the other day, I found a natural living blog that covers a wide variety of topics. Even though I have only visited a couple of times, I have already found a gadget to help my produce last longer and found out (this I could not believe) that there is tallow in most dryer sheets-eek! It is called Natural Living, a blog by Colette Cope at PennLive.com.
You know, I usually do quite a bit of baking around Christmas, not so much this year though. I ended up just making a big batch of Chocolate Cherry Fudge, (not really baking), everybody LOVED it. I'll post the recipe here soon, it would be a nice sweet for Valentine's Day too.
While I was shopping at Macy's I walked by a huge display of juicers that were on sale, so I picked one up. My mom was telling me that there are recipes on Oprah's and Martha Stewart's sites for "green drinks", so off I went to take a look. We made one this morning and was it ever green, it tasted not too bad and honestly, in my quest for natural health over the years, I myself have tasted and put up with some very interesting concoctions. Nettle tea anyone?-Thanks Susan Weed :) It will certainly be fun experimenting and now I can use up the parsley growing in the garden. Maybe I'll post my own recipe for a healthy green drink one of these days. If you have a recipe that you like, please email it to me or post it in the comments section, as I am going to be juicing several times a week.
Best to everyone!
