Winding Down 2007

100_4965

After being on "vacation" for over a week with still several days to go, I decided to sit at my computer and post some thoughts to my blog.

After Christmas, I began a strength training program at the gym, before that I mostly engaged in dance workouts and body sculpting with light weights, this is VERY different for me.  I had originally thought I would use this time off to indulge in a new hobby, turns out I have been spending a lot of the time just caring for my sore muscles!  Can't wait to use my massage therapy gift certificates.

I really enjoy reading blogs and the other day, I found a natural living blog that covers a wide variety of topics.  Even though I have only visited a couple of times, I have already found a gadget to help my produce last longer and found out (this I could not believe) that there is tallow in most dryer sheets-eek!  It is called Natural Living, a blog by Colette Cope at PennLive.com.

100_4925 You know, I usually do quite a bit of baking around Christmas, not so much this year though.  I ended up just making a big batch of Chocolate Cherry Fudge, (not really baking), everybody LOVED it.  I'll post the recipe here soon, it would be a nice sweet for Valentine's Day too.

While I was shopping at Macy's I walked by a huge display of juicers that were on sale, so I picked one up.  My mom was telling me that there are recipes on Oprah's and Martha Stewart's sites for "green drinks", so off I went to take a look.  We made one this morning and was it ever green, it tasted not too bad and honestly, in my quest for natural health over the years, I myself have tasted and put up with some very interesting concoctions.  Nettle tea anyone?-Thanks Susan Weed :)  It will certainly be fun experimenting and now I can use up the parsley growing in the garden.  Maybe I'll post my own recipe for a healthy green drink one of these days.  If you have a recipe that you like, please email it to me or post it in the comments section, as I am going to be juicing several times a week.

Best to everyone!

At the beginning of the month, I was featured in the Personality Spotlight at the all natural beauty Portal.  The interview includes a little bit of past history and my present lifestyle, if you like, you can read it here

A Perfect Sunday Afternoon

Sunday_afternoon100_4917

My pillow and blanket, the best Ms. Scrooge movie on Lifetime ever and my Bliss.  Last week was one wild week; professionally, it was extremely busy and personally it was a bit trying due to a newly diagnosed family illness, though we are thankful it is one that can be managed.  Sunday afternoon - my time of recovery

Do you need a time-out?  Take it, no matter how much we have to do, making the time to soothe our soul is not something that we should put off, it reflects on everything else in our lives.  Make your time and take it.

Ladies Blend Schedule Reminders

Dove

This Saturday, December 15 is the last day to order items from our website for Christmas delivery.

The Ladies Blend Office will be closing at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19 and will re-open Friday, January 4, 2008, on this day, we will return all phone calls and emails.  Monday, January 7, we are back in full force and will begin processing orders.

We have sent our last email newsletter until after our return.  Keep signing up though, we have some fun and interesting content planned for 2008.  You can sign up here or on our website and remember, upon our return from vacation, we will have a drawing for two beautiful gift packages that will be awarded to two of our newsletter subscribers.

Our blog will have minimal "fresh Ladies Blend content" for the next couple of weeks.  Over the next week or so, I'll be featuring recipes from our Sweet Thymes category every few days and after that I may post some pictures of a project that I'll be working on during my time off.  I am an aunt (again) and a great aunt (first time) and am going to try my hand at making some keepsake items.  Really looking forward to that!
