Fudge Galore for Leeza's Place in Melbourne

100_4836

My kitchen was Fudge Central last night and this morning as I tended to the final stages of wrapping, boxing and bagging.  I was able to fit four pieces, each one snuggled into a cupcake holder inside a small bakery box, the single pieces I packaged in snowflake bags.  The whole project went very well, I was quite pleased with the final turn out and my sweet donation to our local Leeza's Place, a safe setting for all families who are dealing with loved ones diagnosed with a memory disorder.

The bazaar at Leeza's Place, Memory Foundation in Melbourne, has all kinds of adorable handcrafted and homemade items.  I picked up a few things, but could not stay too long as I had to get to the gym, pick up a few groceries and get back to work.  We are just now getting caught up after being off for four and a half days at Thanksgiving.

The bazaar is November 30 and December 1, you can read more about it in my Related Post.

Crafting for Christmas

Eyepillowss

There are quite a few crafty projects sprinkled around here and there on our blog.  I have been asked to round them all up in one area to make it a little easier for folks wishing to make gifts this season.  TypePad has a "page" feature that I plan to work on this weekend, I think this may be a good solution to gather and display the assorted projects.

In the meantime, projects can be found in our sidebars and you can sift through the Crafts & Things to Make category.  I should have the Holiday gift project page completed by early next week; I'll post it here as soon as it is ready.

Homemade Kitchen & Bath Cleanser

Kitchen2_2 I always seem to do a lot of extra cleaning this time of the year and even more so, since I recently spiffed up our master bath.  One of the things I use to make my bathrooms and kitchen shine and sparkle is a homemade cleanser that is easy to make and leaves a fresh, clean, non-bleach oder.

Ingredients:

  • Baking Soda
  • Liquid Castile Soap
  • Essential Oils

Directions:

  • Add baking soda to a small dish - the amount depends on the area(s) you plan to use the cleanser.
  • Drizzle in the castile soap - enough to make a creamy paste.
  • Add a couple drops of your favorite essential oil.  My favorite is 1 drop of Lavender and 2-3 drops of Sweet Orange.
  • Use the cleanser to clean sinks, tubs, showers and other surfaces, just as you would similar store bought brands.

Enjoy your cleaning experience!

Ladies Blend Cyber Monday Special

Ladies1_4

Ladies Blend is having a Cyber Monday Special.  Last year we had a black Friday special so this year, I thought it would be fun to do something different.   Update:  At 6 p.m. (est) today, 11/25/07, we will be emailing an exclusive Cyber Monday special to our Newsletter subscribers, which will include even more savings than what the Ladies Blend website is offering.  Sign up for our Newsletter either here on our blog or at the Ladies Blend website, and receive special offers and discounts above and beyond what non-subscribers receive.

I hope those of you that celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful day yesterday, I am happy to have delicious left-overs!  One thing I found yesterday, is that I cannot follow a recipe for sweet potatoes.  I tried and spent more time looking for ingredients and finally just did "my thing" and it flowed effortlessly and tasted perfect.

I re-decorated my master bath (Wednesday night) a little bit and also have a good start on the fudge (last night) that I am making for the bazaar at Leeza's Place next Friday.  I managed to get 10 pounds made, unmolded and stored in the freezer.  I'll probably make another 20 pounds sometime this weekend.  I have some cute packaging ideas, I'll be sure to take pictures.

I am enjoying some time off and plan to hem a pair of new curtains that I bought for the bathroom, eat, nap, take a long soak and watch movies today.  It has been a long time since I had a day like this, it feels scrumptious.

Don't forget to sign up for our Newsletter and a chance to win one of two beautiful gift packages!
